The FREE Holiday Event of the Season: CircleFest Is December 5th!

Start off the holiday season with a trip to the 17th Annual Holiday CircleFest. It’s the perfect way to experience University Circle, FREE of charge. From 1:00-5:30 p.m., more than 20 of University Circle’s renowned museums, gardens, galleries, churches, and schools open their doors and offer an afternoon of activities, food, and shopping.

Visitors can look forward to a gingerbread house competition, live music performances, trees with themed decorations, a singing Santa, and even live reindeer. This year, Wade Oval becomes Cleveland’s Central Park with free horse-drawn carriage rides. Or, for a slightly warmer mode of transportation, UCI will provide free shuttle buses to escort guests to the different activity sites. From 5:30-6:00 p.m., the activities conclude with The Cleveland Museum of Art’s dramatic Winter Lights Lantern Procession on Wade Oval. Perhaps the most highly anticipated activity of Holiday CircleFest is The Rink at Wade Oval. Admission to The Rink is free, and skate rentals are only $3.

A bright and innovative way to warm up your holiday season, the Winter Lights Lantern Festival features lantern displays inside the museum and the Environment of Lights installation on Wade Oval. The museum offers an array of activities and entertainment, including workshops for making simple lanterns for the procession. The day culminates in a procession through the Environment of Lights led by guest lantern artists and illuminated dancers and giant puppets on Saturday, December 5th at 5:30 pm as part of the Holiday CircleFest in University Circle.

Ice Skate for FREE at the Rink at Wade Oval

The Rink at Wade Oval is back for a third year of outdoor fun! It's the only FREE outdoor rink in Cleveland. Last year, more than 20,000 people laced up a pair of skates and took to The Rink’s unique polymer surface, which feels just like real ice. This season, visitors are encouraged to stop by the new Wade Oval Information Center to warm up with a cup of hot cocoa or coffee after they're finished skating. Admission is free; skate rental is $3.

The DeVor Dental Practice invites Halloween revelers of all ages to stop by their Madison Avenue offices on Monday, November 1, 2010 between 3:00–5:30 p.m., to take part in its second annual Halloween Buyback!, a candy drive for America’s men and women serving overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq. The candy will be distributed to our troops via Operation Gratitude. The Devor Dental Practice is located at 13616 Madison Ave. in Lakewood.All are invited to stop by and contribute some trick-or-treat bounty and help this year's goal of collecting 200 pounds of candy. Halloween at Crocker Park on October 31st

The 2nd Annual Crocker Park Pet Parade and Costume Contest takes place Sunday, October 31 from 12-4pm ~ Featuring trick-or-treating, games and more, the afternoon event is fun for both kids and their four-legged friends. Numerous Cleveland restaurants offer kids eat FREE meal deals. A host of cuisine styles can be enjoyed any day of the week, without breaking the family budget. Cleveland kids eat free meal deals all require the purchase of a regularly priced adult meal. In some instances, up to three free or discounted children's meal can be ordered with only one adult meal purchase. Some of the more well-known restaurants are as follows:

Everyday:
CiCi's Pizza offers free buffet meals for children age 3 and younger everyday. The buffet is discounted to a rate of $4.49 for children age 10 and younger.
bd’s Mongolian Barbeque allows kids to eat cheap daily.
Cheryl & Co. (Beachwood) allows kids to bring in their report card & receive one FREE cookie for every A grade! Maximum 6 cookies per report card.
Eat’n’Park allows kids 10 and under eat from the soup & salad bar and breakfast & fruit buffet for half-price. Kids 5 and under eat for "free" from the soup & salad bar and breakfast & fruit buffet when they're with an adult who has purchased the soup & salad bar or breakfast & fruit buffet. Columbus Day Parade in Little Italy

The Annual Columbus Day Parade in Little Italy (on Columbus Day, October 11) is a true celebration of Italian American heritage. The parade is hosted by The Order of Italian Sons and Daughters of America and held in the Little Italy. Restaurants and shops are open during the event for extended fun. The parade kicks off at noon at the intersection of Murray Hill Road and Cornell Road and winds its way along Mayfield Road. Your Guide Nature Centers in the Cleveland Area

There are several Nature Centers in the Cleveland area, many of which are located in the Cleveland Metroparks. Nature and Visitor Centers are Cleveland Metroparks gateways to outdoor discovery. Come and ask questions, experience "touch and feel" exhibits, and go outside to see the plants and animals that make up Cleveland Metroparks. Naturalists are available to provide information and guide visitors to nearby trails. Nature centers are open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Except Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day). All of Cleveland Metroparks nature and visitor centers offer a diverse array of outdoor education programs for all ages. Located in Brecksville, Cuyahoga Heights, Garfield Heights, Mayfield Village, and North Olmsted, the centers are FREE and open to the public. All programs are also provided FREE of charge. The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes is located at 2600 South Park Boulevard, Cleveland, 44120.  The center is located within a section of the Shaker Parklands that includes six natural habitats -- lake, stream, marsh, field, ravine and forest. To experience these fascinating habitats, take a walk along one of two beautiful trails. The center also has many exhibits, occasional art shows, and activity tables for children and adults. Hours of operation are Monday - Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. & Sunday 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Trails are open from dawn till dusk. The Lake Erie Nature & Science Center is located in Bay Village. The center teaches the wonders of wildlife through our live animal exhibits, our wildlife education programs and our rehabilitation services. Watch the Cleveland Orchestra Perform a FREE Concert Celebrating the 4th of July

The 4th of July is almost here! Train Day, a FREE Event at the Cleveland Metroparks

The 7th Annual Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival Father's Day Weekend

"Knee High Naturalists," a FREE Nature Event for Preschoolers on June 13th

"Most young children want to explore and try new things, but are often told they are too young. But, not this time! Cleveland Metroparks encourages young children to explore, play, learn, and more at the “Knee-High Naturalists” event. The event is geared towards preschoolers, ages 2 to 6. The “knee-high naturalists” will play and learn all afternoon with many fun-filled and educational activities. They can play nature games, make nature crafts, play in the “discovery sandbox,” or have their face painted, refreshments for sale, and more!"
